The Taunton Municipal Council has recently
set the tax rate for Fiscal Year 2012
The tax rate for residential property: $ 12.47 per thousand
The tax rate for Commercial and Industrial property: $ 27.63 per thousand
The formular to calculate what the amount of your tax bill is covered by the debt exclusion that was voted upon in 2007 for the Taunton High School project is as follows:
Multiply your annual tax by 0.017566
Example: If your tax bill is $ 2,800 $2,800 x 0.017566= $ 49.18
In this example $49.18 of your tax bill of $2,800 is due to the debt exclusion vote of 2007 that will be applied each year until the debt and interest is paid off.
