Time:   9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Place:  Taunton Wastewater Treatment Plant
                825 West Water Street
                        and
                Taunton Municipal Sanitary Landfill
                330 E. Britannia Street
Who:            Taunton Residents Only

WHAT TO BRING TO THE WASTEWATER PLANT
Unneeded household hazardous waste in sealed containers
(used original containers when possible)
Stains, Thinners, & Strippers
Solvents & Varnishes    
Adhesives, Glues, Resins
Asbestos (one 30-gallon trash bag per household)
Batteries (Nickel/Cadmium)
Waste Fuels (Kerosene, Gasoline)
Swimming Pool Chemicals
PCB Contaminated Wastes
Mercury containing devices (button batteries, fluorescent tubes & bulbs, thermostats & thermometers)
Engine Degreaser, Brake Fluid   
Transmission Fluid
Poisons, Insecticides, Weed Killers
Wood Preservatives
Hobby Supplies, Artist Supplies 
Photo Chemicals, Chemistry Sets
Cleaners, Spot Removers
Coal Tar or Sealant
Acids
Antifreeze

Motor Oil
Paints (oil-based)*
Tires ($7 per tire)
Auto Batteries ($5 each)

Smoke Detectors
Compressed Gas Cylinders
Ammunition, Fireworks
Dioxin Bearing Wastes   
Explosives
Prescription Medicines/Syringes
Infectious & Biological Wastes
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Radioactive Wastes
Fire Extinguishers
Materials containing 2,4,5T
Materials with penta chlorophenol
Shock Sensitive Materials

TO ENSURE SAFETY, PLEASE
Tighten caps and lids leaving material in original labeled containers
Pack containers in sturdy upright boxes and pack with newspaper
Sort and pack separately: pesticides and household cleaners
NEVER MIX CHEMICALS!
Pack your vehicle and go directly to the site
NEVER SMOKE while handling hazardous materials.

Quantities are limited to 15 gallons or 30 pounds of material per car. This event is sponsored by Veolia Water and Waste Management.
