Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator
The ADA Coordinator is responsible for working to bring all Municipal services, infrastructure and City owned buildings into compliance with the Act, including providing appropriate accessibility and accommodation to individuals with a wide range of disabilities The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects people with disabilities from discrimination.

Airport
Taunton Municipal Airport serves the aviation needs of southeastern Massachusetts.

Animal control/Animal Care facility
Animal Control helps the public with issues caused by animals. They also help to reunite lost pets with their families. In addition, each year the Taunton Animal Care Facility helps to adopt over 500 animals into loving homes across New England.

Assessor
The Assessor’s primarily responsibility is to find the Fair Market Value of all real and personal property within the municipality.

Auditor
The Auditor is responsible for auditing every invoice for accuracy, propriety and availability of funds. This also means that the expenditures must be in compliance with City ordinances and with various State and Federal guidelines. The City Auditor approves, processes and pays the City's obligations via warrants.

Building Department
It is the responsibility of the Building Department to ensure that the buildings in which we live, work, worship, and recreate are built and maintained safely. The inspectional division of this department enforces the provisions of Massachusetts State Building Code and the City of Taunton Zoning Ordinance in order to protect the health, safety and general welfare of city residents. Additionally, the maintenance division of the Building Department is responsible for the care and upkeep of all municipal buildings.

The City Clerk provides City Council meeting agendas and minutes, helps residents gain various licenses, and is committed to providing courteous, friendly and efficient experiences with the City of Taunton.

Department of Human Services / Council on Aging
The Department of Human Services/Taunton Council on Aging is a comprehensive program of activities designed to satisfy the physical, social, economic, recreational and psychological needs of the citizens of Taunton.

Economic & Community Development
OECD plans and implements the City’s economic development / revitalization goals and community development and affordable housing initiatives and services. OECD is responsible for the administration of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Planning and Development Programs, specifically Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and The HOME Program as well as State and non-profit grants and their projects.

Elections Department
The mission of the Elections Department is to conduct reliable elections and maintain the most accurate voter registration records for our citizens. The City of Taunton elections will be the highest level of integrity. All duties of the electoral process will be a productive and an efficient operation through a well managed election environment.

Emergency Management
The Taunton Emergency Management Agency is the city agency responsible for coordinating federal, state, local, volunteer, and private resources during emergencies and disasters in the City of Taunton.

Engineering Department
The Engineering Division provides technical and engineering assistance to various City departments and offers technical guidance to residents of the City. The division reviews all plans for infrastructure improvements as well as subdivision, private development, and individual residential construction projects.

Housing Authority
The Taunton Housing Authority is committed to providing opportunities to people who experience barriers to housing because of income, disability, or special needs, with the goal of improving housing and economic opportunities for residents.

Human Resources Department
The Human Resource Department is the primary contact for individuals seeking regular employment with all City departments, except the School Department and TMLP. In addition to the coordination of hiring of staff, the Human Resource Department is responsible for, compensation, safety and wellness activities, training and staff development, and collective bargaining.

Information Technology
Information Technology works to maintain a stable, up-to-date network and end-user environment that enables and enhances user productivity. Offering assistance in areas such as voice services, network services, enterprise support (Water and Sewer Utilities), office services, and online permitting.

Law Department
The Law Department provides exceptional legal services to the Mayor and Municipal Council, Department Heads, and other elected and appointed officials, boards, agencies and departments. The Law Department furthers the City's policy and public objectives through aggressive, effective legal representation.

Parks Recreation, Cemeteries & Public Grounds
The Mission of this department is to provide recreational programming, facility maintenance of all parks, recreation, conservation, cemetery properties as well as tree and brush removals.

Planning & Conservation Department
The Planning and Conservation Department is the contact point for the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Conservation Commission, Site Plan Review, General Zoning Administration, and the ADA Coordinator.

The Taunton Police Department shall strive for excellence in performance and delivery of services to the total community. Procurement Department
The mission statement for the Department of Procurement (D.O.P.) is responsible for the control and accountability for all purchases made by City departments. The D.O.P. seek and purchase products and services at the best possible price and value. While meeting the purchasing needs for all City departments as quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively as possible.

Public Works
The Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of public infrastructure; coordinating the construction and repair of all public streets and maintaining the City's water, sewer, and stormwater systems. In addition, the DPW oversees the City's solid waste and recycle operations, manages fleet services for all City vehicles, and is responsible for inclement winter weather management.
