The Parks, Cemeteries and Public Grounds Department was established by City Ordinance in June, 2004. This ordinance resulted in the merger of three departments to include Parks and Recreation, Cemetery and Conservation Facility Maintenance as one department under the jurisdiction of a Commissioner of Public Grounds and a seven member board.
The Mission of this department is to provide recreational programming, facility maintenance of all parks, recreation, conservation, cemetery properties as well as tree and brush removals.
