Public Works
The Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of public infrastructure; coordinating the construction and repair of all public streets and maintaining the City's water, sewer, and stormwater systems. In addition, the DPW oversees the City's solid waste and recycle operations, manages fleet services for all City vehicles, and is responsible for inclement winter weather management. Staffed with quality professionals, the DPW works in conjunction with the Mayor and City Council to maximize funding and available resources to modernize roadways, optimize the water distribution system, provide a state-of-the-art sewer disposal system, and service the needs of Taunton residents.
