General Services
The Taunton Council on Aging / Senior Center provides Taunton elders, sixty (60) years of age and older, with many services to provide them with general information or to assist them in accessing services. Some of these general services include:
Taunton Council on Aging Newsletter
The Taunton Council on Aging Newsletter is distributed monthly to various sites throughout the City of Taunton. The Newsletter contains information on timely topics, special programs and the monthly calendar. The Newsletter is now available on line.
Income Tax Assistance
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) provides trained individuals to complete basic State and Federal Income Tax Forms at no charge to the consumer. The Income Tax Assistance is scheduled during the months of February, March and April and is held at:

'File of Life' Program
The 'File of Life' is a mini-medical history written on a card that is stored in a red plastic pocket labeled 'File of Life'. The red plastic pocket is magnetically posted on the outside of one's refrigerator and is used to inform emergency personnel of your name, emergency medical contacts, health problems, medications, dosages, allergies and other medical history. To obtain a free 'File of Life', please contact the Senior Drop-In Center. The 'File of Life' program is funded through a generous donation from Morton Hospital: A Steward Family Hospital.
Information and Referral
The Taunton Council on Aging/Senior Center offers Information and Referral to various human and social service programs and services available to elders of Taunton and their families. Information and Referral is provided for needs such as: food, shelter, clothing, furniture, housing, transportation and health insurance.
