MassDOT will be hosting a live Virtual Design Public Hearing on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 6:30P to present and discuss the Corridor Improvements on Broadway (Rt. 138) - Phase 2 Project in Taunton.
The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Corridor Improvements on Broadway (Route 138) – Phase 2 project. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
Interested residents should visit, www.mass.gov/massdot-highway-design-public-hearings to attend the hearing. Any cancellations or schedule updates will also be posted on that site.
The proposed projects consists of full depth reconstruction on Broadway from Purchase Street to Jackson Street; traffic signal reconstruction at the intersections with 1) Washington Street and 2) East Britannia Street; 11-foot travel lane and minimum 5-foot bicycle lane in both directions; new cement concrete sidewalk along the corridor; new pedestrian curb ramps with detectable warning panels; crosswalks across all intersecting side streets; improvements to the existing drainage system; and new pavement markings and signs. Bicycle accommodations consisting of bicycle lanes and buffered bicycle lanes are provided in accordance with applicable design guides.
