Taunton To Celebrate Liberty & Union Weekend

Festivities are October 14-15 Downtown and on Church Green

[Taunton, MA]– Liberty and Union Weekend is an annual celebration of the unique role that the City of Taunton played in our nation’s founding. The Weekend is held each fall to commemorate the events of October 1774, when Taunton became the first community in the American colonies to raise a flag – the “Liberty and Union” flag – in opposition to British rule.

Festivities begin Friday, October 14 with the Liberty Libations Pub Crawl throughout Downtown restaurants organized by the Downtown Taunton Foundation. Start off the night with an All Groups Mixer from 5 - 7 pm at Trescott Street Gallery & Real Art Studios. During the Mixer, you will enjoy light refreshments and beverages AND meet your Pub Crawl Group for the evening. At 7 pm, the Pub Crawl begins as each group explores 6 more downtown destinations: Liberty & Union Alehouse, El Mariachi, Fusion Kitchen, The Pearl, The Ugly Duckling & The National. $5 to join the Crawl, ticket price includes raffles tickets & light refreshments during the Mixer. Raffle prizes throughout the night! Don't miss the fun, signup today! This Crawl is limited to 100 people & usually fills up. Reserve your spot today.
