PUMPING STATION ATTENDANT
Taunton Water Treatment Plant
This is a Labor Service position and is included under the Public Employees Council of the Laborers International Union of North America AFL-CIO Public Employees Union Local 1144A.
The Attendant is responsible on a daily basis to travel to each substation and water storage facility to check the general condition of the facility, take daily readings, make chemical transfers, mixes and do general cleaning as needed to keep the facility in neat and orderly condition. Attendant will help the operators as needed and assist them doing filter backwashes, collecting water samples at the plant and substations. Assist the lab in collecting new water main samples at the plant and substations. Assists the operator when they request in chemical transfers, water pickups, answer the phone and other tasks. The incumbent will cut and trim lawns at the facilities during the summer. During the winter months, responsible for shoveling out all of the doors and pathways as need to properly access all of the facilities.
Applicants must have a Massachusetts Board of Drinking Water Certification Grade T1. Applicants must obtain at least a T1 certification with in one year of employment. Applicants must have a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts Driver's License with dependable transportation. Must submit to a CORI background review.
SALARY: Grade Level I Step 1: $19.46 per hour (Based on a 40 hour work week)
